NTU tracks the amount of food waste generated from food served within the university through a mandatory kitchen waste measurement and reporting mechanism. In accordance with Taiwan's Waste Disposal Act, all on-campus food service providers — regardless of whether they are self-operated or outsourced — are legally required to classify, weigh, and record their kitchen waste before it is collected by authorized waste disposal services.
