- Event Background：
This is a corporate foundation, carrying the social responsibility of enterprises in the era of net-zero emissions. In terms of the essence of an educational foundation, it should operate with the spirit of talent cultivation. With the support of National Taiwan University, the foundation has transitioned from organizing the “Green Tech” international contest for twelve years to focusing on the theme of “Net-Zero Tech” since 2023. In 2024, the plan is to restore the scale of simultaneous promotion of the main contest and the international contest, which was in place before the pandemic. Beyond encouraging the involvement of domestic and international university students and faculty in innovative zero-carbon technologies, the foundation aims to make Taiwan a hub for international exchange in net-zero technology, talent development, and industrial growth through high-profile international contests and platforms.
- Objectives：
- Award significant financial incentives to distinguished professors worldwide for research in net zero and negative emissions technologies, and support educators in guiding future experts in these critical fields.
- Establish a “Net Zero” platform to facilitate technical exchange and networking across industry, government, academia, and research sectors.
- Disseminate net zero knowledge to foster societal consensus and action on energy conservation and environmental protection.
- Support the four key transformation strategies in energy, industry, lifestyle, and society, driving progress towards a sustainable future.
- Contest Theme：Net Zero Tech covering the following technological domains:
- Renewable Energy（Wind Power, Solar Power, Marine Energy, Geothermal, Hydrogen Energy, Forward-looking Energy...）
- Advanced Energy Storage Systems, High Efficiency, Low Energy Consumption, Low Carbon Emissions
- Negative Carbon, Carbon Capture, Storage, and Reutilization Technologies
- Electric Vehicles, Energy-saving Motors, Green Transportation
- Waste Treatment and Purification Technologies, Resource Circulation and Zero Waste, Green Building
- Energy-saving Technologies（Production, Manufacturing, Residential and Commercial Buildings, Green Building Design, Life...）
- Contest Categories：
Main Contest：
(1)Open to students and faculty from various universities in Taiwan.
(2)Participants include undergraduate and graduate students from various universities in Taiwan and their respective advisors
(3)Each team should consist of four members or more (including advisors).
(4)Participants can be from different departments or universities.
(5)Each person is limited to register in one team (no restrictions on advisors).
International Contest：
(1)Open to students and faculty from universities worldwide.
(2)Participants include undergraduate and graduate students from universities worldwide, including Taiwan, and their respective advisors.
(3)Each team should consist of four members or more (including the advisors).
(4)Participants can be from different departments or universities.
(5)Each person is limited to register in one team (no restrictions on advisors).
- Contest Procedures：
- Registration: From March 1, 2024, to June 30, 2024
- Preliminary and Secondary Review: International Contest: July 1-9, 2024、Main Contest: July 1-25, 2024
- Announcement of Review results：International Contest: July 10, 2024, 17:00、Main Contest: July 26, 2024, 17:00
- Final Round: August 21, 2024 (Wednesday)

- Main Contest：First Place 31,000 USD、Second Place 19,000 USD、Third Place 12,000 USD、CPC Smart Energy Award-6,000 USD、Energy-Saving Motor System Award-6,000 USD、Advance of Green Energy Award-3,000 USD、NET-Zero Promisiimg Award-3,000 USD、Honorable Mention 1,500（13 teams）
