Pedestrian priority planning on the NTU campus
National Taiwan University adheres to a people-centric transportation philosophy, prioritizing roadways for pedestrian use and encouraging the use of public transportation while reducing private vehicle access to the campus. In our planning, pedestrian safety is paramount, and we have established pedestrian-only zones, separate pathways for pedestrians and vehicles, and accessibility facilities. Additionally, we have created climate-responsive pedestrian corridors for the convenience of pedestrians. To ensure the safety of pedestrians at night and to preserve the natural environment, suitable nighttime lighting fixtures have been installed throughout the campus to provide secure pathways for pedestrians.
