NTU has a total of 1,432 drinking water fountains across its campus. These fountains are located in various facilities, including classrooms, offices, conference rooms, student dormitories, and gymnasiums. We offer free drinking water to students, staff, and visitors.
To ensure the safety and quality of the drinking water, the university strictly adheres to the Drinking Water Management Act and the Regulations Governing the Use and Maintenance of Drinking Water and Continuous Water Supply Equipment. According to these regulations, NTU is required to maintain and document maintenance records for inspection by relevant authorities and to conduct quarterly E. coli detection checks. For these checks, a sampling rate of one-eighth of the total number of drinking fountains across the entire university is employed.
In 2023, a total of 419 drinking fountains on campus were inspected in accordance with legal requirements and standards. All of these inspections were successfully passed, resulting in a 100% pass rate.
