Student Union

Many student groups in NTU defend students' rights, provide governance input to the administrative body, provide student support, and organize activities.  Below is a brief introduction of all the relevant groups, their roles, and services. The Groups listed here are just student groups that serve the wider student body. Individual Colleges, Departments, and Graduate Institutes have similar functions that serve a specific student body.

Actives

NTU Orientation Camp (NTUOC)

The NTUOC is a welcoming platform designed to help both undergraduate and graduate newcomers adapt to life at NTU. Uniquely, the program is co-organized by student teams who plan and execute every detail, from event design to mentorship and bilingual communication. Their leadership ensures that both local and international students are fully supported in an inclusive and friendly environment. Each year, the NTUOC hosts a variety of activities, including orientation workshops, campus exploration tours, administration guidance sessions, and cultural exchanges. Among its most popular events is the "Fresher Music Festival", where student clubs can showcase their talents and connect through art and performance. A Student Club Bazaar is also part of the Orientation, introducing the wide variety of student clubs to freshmen. All in all, NTUOC fosters a strong sense of community, helping students begin their NTU journey with confidence, connection, and creativity.

NTU Art Fest

The NTU Art Fest is a vibrant annual event at NTU that transforms the campus into a creative playground of art, performance, and engagement. At the heart of the festival lies the student organising team, composed of passionate undergraduates and postgraduates who conceive, plan, and execute each edition. These student-led teams coordinate everything from theme selection, venue design, artist collaboration, to promotion and logistics. Their role gives them hands-on leadership, project management, and teamwork experience that complements their academic journeys.
For the entire student body, the Art Fest delivers a rich array of opportunities: immersive exhibitions, interactive installations, live performances, workshop sessions, and cross-disciplinary dialogues. It fosters a lively cultural atmosphere where students can explore their creativity, broaden their perspectives, and participate beyond their major fields. Moreover, engaging with the festival enhances campus bonding, fosters a sense of community, and encourages students to connect with peers, staff, and visiting artists. Overall, the NTU Art Fest enriches campus life, empowers student initiative, and invites every student to both witness and contribute to a dynamic expression of art and culture.

NTU Graduation Student Association (NTUGSA)

The NTU Graduation Student Association (NTUGSA) is a student-led organization dedicated to supporting graduating students at NTU. Each year, NTUGSA plans and coordinates a variety of events, including the graduation banquet and commemorative photo sessions. NTUGSA also designs creative graduation merchandise, produces yearbooks, organizes graduation song competitions, and graduation balls, saving the best memories for all graduating students. Beyond event management, the association serves as a bridge between the university administration and the student body, ensuring that students' voices and needs are represented throughout the graduation process.

Governance and Rights

NTU Student Association (NTUSA)

The executive branch of the student government represents NTU undergraduate students. The President of the NTUSA is elected by all undergraduate students annually, and the president is also one of the student representatives in several NTU Affairs Meetings (also known as the University Council), providing the standpoint of students in school governance. The graph below showcases all the departments and working groups under NTUSA.

Department of Student Rights provides support for students when their rights have been violated. This department also held public hearings on matters related to student rights for example: the increase of dorm electricity bills and the increase of public bike service, etc.  Department of Sustainability provides governance input related to campus sustainability in the "Sustainable Development Promotion Committee."  The Department of Sustainability also held Earth Day events encouraging student sustainability actions.  Division of Gender Equality provides governance input related to gender issues in the "NTU Gender Equality Education Committee." The Division advocated for "All Gender Restroom", supporting students with special needs. The division is also advocating for free sanitary pads provided by the school for everyone in need.  Department of International Affairs provides support for international students, advocating for their rights and holding events for international cultural exchange.
