NTU's commitment to sustainable transportation

National Taiwan University is committed to creating a people-oriented and sustainable campus. With the goal of achieving a car-free campus by 2028, the university prioritizes pedestrians and cyclists on campus roads. To manage the number of vehicles and bicycles entering the campus, the university has established the Directives for the Management of Traffic on Campus and a traffic management committee.
Beyond vehicle restrictions, to reduce carbon emissions, the university has set a goal of achieving EV100 by gradually replacing government vehicles with green vehicles, allowing electric-assisted bicycles on campus, and providing charging stations for electric vehicles and various shared mobility options.
To encourage the use of public transportation and shared mobility, the university provides free campus shuttle buses and has actively improved the shared bicycle system, adding 5 new stations and 618 parking spaces in 2023, bringing the total number of shared bicycle parking spaces on campus to over a thousand. Additionally, to increase the utilization of public transportation, the university subsidizes students' shared mobility expenses. In 2023, 5,802 students applied for this subsidy, contributing to a more environmentally friendly transportation footprint.
