NTU does have elected representation on the university’s highest governing body from: students (both undergraduate and graduate), faculty, and staff (non-faculty employees). The NTU Affairs Meeting (the University Council) is our highest-level decision-making unit. The meeting is in charge of reviewing developments, budgets, and rules for NTU affairs. Members include the campus administrators, faculty members, and other employees, as well as student representatives, in order to ensure opinions of all parties have been considered. Articles 36 and 37 of the NTU Organizational Chapter stipulate that representatives of faculty, researchers, teaching assistants, staff, messengers/custodians, and students at the University Affairs Meeting are elected through voting and can only serve two terms consecutively. In 2024, the meeting consisted of 140 academic staff members, 18 student representatives (15 undergraduate and 3 graduate), and 9 non-academic staff members.
