For Alumni

1. NTU AR: Lifelong Learning for Sustainable Development

To support lifelong learning beyond graduation, NTU launched the Alumni Return and Recharge (NTU AR) program under its Future University initiative. The program provides alumni with continuous access to educational resources through free online courses, tuition discounts, credit programs, and professional development opportunities.
Since 2021, NTU has also offered the Corporate Sustainability Development and Management course, enabling alumni to strengthen their understanding of ESG strategies, sustainability trends, corporate transformation, and sustainable management practices. By connecting alumni with emerging sustainability knowledge, NTU promotes lifelong learning while supporting sustainable development across society.
 

2. Quality of Life Lecture Series: Free SDG Education for Alumni and the Public

Guided by the philosophy of "giving back to society through knowledge," the NTU Alumni Association organizes the Quality of Life Lecture Series, a free public education program held every Saturday throughout the year.
In 2025, the series delivered 31 public lectures covering healthcare, healthy ageing, AI, marine conservation, disaster science, social wellbeing, and humanities. Open to alumni and the wider community, the program promotes lifelong learning, scientific literacy, and public awareness of sustainable development, ensuring that university knowledge benefits society beyond campus.

For Local Community

3. Financial Literacy Education for Rural Communities

The NTU EMBA Student Association partnered with the NTU EMBA Financial Education Society to deliver financial literacy education in rural elementary schools across Taitung and Green Island.
In 2025, EMBA students visited six schools, reaching more than 130 students through interactive workshops on budgeting, financial decision-making, fraud prevention, and risk awareness. Designed around real-life scenarios and game-based learning, the curriculum equips children with practical life skills while promoting educational equity and inclusive quality education (SDG 4). The initiative demonstrates how university knowledge can be translated into meaningful community education through sustained outreach and student engagement.

4. Community-Based Health Education for Healthy Ageing

NTU's Institute of Health Behaviors and Community Science collaborates with local governments, community organizations, healthcare professionals, and residents to promote community-based health education in three communities.
Faculty members and students co-designed educational programs on healthy ageing, nutrition, chronic disease prevention, medication safety, and fall prevention, while also strengthening local mutual-support networks. Through workshops, health promotion activities, and participatory community engagement, older adults enhanced their health literacy, self-care capacity, and wellbeing. The initiative demonstrates NTU's long-term commitment to translating academic expertise into practical SDG education for local communities.

Educational Outreach in Countries in Need

5. Educational Outreach for Migrant Communities in Northern Thailand

The NTU Thai–Myanmar Veterans Service Club organizes annual educational outreach programs in remote Chinese-language schools in Northern Thailand, serving children from migrant and refugee communities.
In 2025, NTU student volunteers delivered Chinese language instruction, career exploration workshops, digital literacy training, and introductions to AI learning tools, while encouraging students to broaden their international perspectives and future educational opportunities. Through home visits and community engagement, the team also documented local history and promoted intercultural understanding, demonstrating NTU's commitment to inclusive education, cross-cultural learning, and educational outreach in underserved communities.

6. Capacity Building for Maternal and Newborn Healthcare in Guatemala

NTU Hospital collaborated with the Taiwan International Cooperation and Development Fund (TaiwanICDF) to strengthen maternal and newborn healthcare through professional education and capacity-building in Guatemala.
In 2025, an interdisciplinary team of obstetricians, neonatologists, nurses, and healthcare specialists conducted on-site training, train-the-trainer programs, and clinical mentoring for healthcare professionals in hospitals and maternal care centers. By transferring medical knowledge and strengthening local healthcare capacity, the project supports sustainable improvements in maternal and neonatal care while advancing health education, knowledge transfer, and international capacity building in developing communities.
