To raise environmental awareness and promote low-carbon lifestyles to local residents, NTU launched the Project SC+NTU and worked with the residents of Daxue Village, Taipei City to develop community-wide carbon-reduction solutions that utilize data from micro-sensors network for community green landscaping. This not only helped the residents to understand the dynamic relationship between urban heat island effect, community green landscaping, energy conservation, and carbon reduction, but it also increased their awareness and willingness to take actions on climate issues.
