NTU PLANT TEACHING HOSPITAL
To promote sustainable agriculture, NTU, through its Plant Teaching Hospital, provides services such as plant disease and pest diagnosis, prescriptions, prevention, and consultation. Additionally, we have partnered with the Yunlin County Government to implement regular on-site plant doctor services, addressing local farmers‘ questions about plant diseases, pests, fertilizer application, and safe pesticide use. Currently, there are 7 resident plant doctors serving an area of over 50 hectares. NTU also arranges specialized workshops on key crops in Yunlin's towns and villages (e.g., peanuts, bamboo shoots, garlic), educating farmers on the use of rational and appropriate plant protection techniques to reduce production costs and improve the quality of the agricultural production environment. Please refer to the report for more details (page 16-19).
NTU COMMITTEE OF AGRICULTURAL EXTENSION (CAE)
NTU CAE has long invited plant medicine experts and scholars from various fields to conduct agricultural technology consultation workshops. These free workshops address on-site diagnoses in the field and respond to various issues raised by farmers. They have received enthusiastic feedback from farmers, who have expressed significant benefits. The NTU team not only includes experts in plant diseases and pests but also invites horticultural experts from agricultural research and extension stations, as well as soil and fertilizer experts from the industry. They provide comprehensive health management recommendations for crops to help farmers align with agricultural research and bridge the gap between farmers and experts.
