NTU's Students Hunger Interventions

SDGs

To address student hunger, NTU offers the following measures,

  1. LIVING ALLOWEANCE MEAL PLAN
Since 2019, we have been implementing the "Living Allowance Meal Plan." It offers a monthly allowance of NT$5,000 per person to students from low-income and lower-middle-income households, as well as those in need of financial support. This allowance can be used to cover expenses at any stores and restaurants located on our campus.
  2. CAMPUS DISCOUNT
NTU’s campus restaurants/cafeterias offer a 10-15% discount to all students, including McDonald’s, KFC, Subway, convenience stores, and bakeries (Link1, Link2, Link3).

  3. FOOD WASTE REDUCTION DISCOUNT
Some of the NTU dining halls offer meals to students at a discounted price or for free before closing each evening, whereas some stores sell near-expiration food at discounted prices.
