NTU's Sustainable Food Purchases

SDGs

  1. SUSTAINABLE FOOD PRINCIPLES
To prioritize the purchase of products from local and sustainable sources, NTU follows five key sustainability dimensions as our sustainable food principles.
    • Sustainably Farming/Harvesting
    • Low Additives
    • Low-Carbon & Vegetarian
    • Local Production
    • Resource Circulation

  2. CAS-CERTIFIED AGRICULTURAL PRODUCTS
NTU encourages our affiliated food service providers to use ingredients certified under various sustainable food criteria, including CAS-certified agricultural products. The CAS label represents “domestic agricultural products with traceable origins.” NTU also requires vendors to post information about the certified ingredients they use on our websites for consumer reference.

  3. NTU'S AGRICULTURAL EXHIBITION CENTER
NTU’s Agricultural Exhibition Center sells fresh milk, eggs, and organic vegetables produced by our Experimental Farm, as well as high-quality agricultural products from outstanding local cooperatives across the region. Furthermore, we have partnered with the on-campus restaurant "Macha Prince x Let's Do Eat" to feature NTU's fresh milk and cage-free eggs in their desserts.

  4. NTU USR YUNLIN FARMERS' MARKET
NTU hosted the "NTU USR Yunlin Farmers' Market" on November 11-12, 2023. We invited dozens of farmers from the Yunlin area to bring their high-quality agricultural and livestock products to the NTU campus for promotion and sale. This event showcased our long-term commitment to and achievements in Yunlin agriculture.
