1. Sustainable Agriculture Summer Camp
The Department of Agriculture Economics held a three-day summer camp from July 12 to 14, 2023. The summer camp is for the Shuitsanlin Elementary School, situated in the agricultural county of Yunlin. The summer provided students with a more sustainable point of view on how agriculture can be managed. It also encourages students to participate in agriculture and serving society.
2. Promoting Organic Tea at Exhibition
The NTU Experimental Farm participated in the first "2023 Nantou Zhushan Tea Ceremony Festival". NTU brought several of our own organic tea products and showcased and educated the public about sustainable tea farming.
3. Experimental Farm Environmental Education
NTU Experimental Farm held many environmental education programs for the public. For the crop section, the farm has been providing environmental education programs since 1997. Programs include an introduction to crop farms and their surrounding ecosystem as well as several DIY experiences using farm products. For the horticulture section, the farm provided programs to the public like eco-friendly fruit farm tours, an introduction to a low-carbon fruit diet, and horticulture DIY.
4. Firefly X Tea
NTU Phoenix Nature Education Park provides environmental education events for the public on how organic tea farming can also protect fireflies' habitat. The education park held two one-day events in 2023, showcasing to the public the relationship between organic tea farming and fireflies.
